Community Strategist (English language)

Location

Hong Kong (preferred) or remote

At Chaos Theory, a Community Strategist is a special mix of marketer and communicator.

But more than that, we want people who love to craft communications that make an impact on our brand, audience, and community. If that’s you, we want to talk.

Chaos Theory works at the digital intersection of sports, entertainment, and cryptocurrency, and we are hiring to grow like crazy. Early in your tenure, we want you to be able to say, “I am learning new things every day, and my work is directly contributing to the kind of growth most companies can only dream of.”

Let’s make that happen together.

A Day in the Life

You start the morning with a thorough look through the social media sites and forums you manage. There are a few comments on Twitter and Discord worth replying to, and you see an opportunity on Bitcoin Talk to add a sharp observation in an open thread, so you dive right in todoing what you do best: Engaging and growing our community. You know your replies will be seen by thousands of people including some of the biggest gamblers in the world, so you take extra care to craft your communications in a way that displays our world-class company culture.

Next, it’s time to jump into a quick meeting with your manager to go over company roadmaps and decide how best to involve that community in everything coming down the pike. There’s a cool new NFT feature launching soon, so you coordinate on a plan to write a blog announcement and repurpose the content across various platforms. You’ve established some good connections in the crypto community, and can’t wait to involve them in spreading the news.

After lunch with the team, you spend the early afternoon helping out on the blog and website content. You’re starting to get pretty good at using AI writing/editing to streamline this work, so you wrap up sooner than expected and decide to spend the spare time checking in on our industry review sites to make sure the brand’s reputation is solid there too.

Suddenly, you get a message from the influencer manager letting you know a famous German streamer is going to be going live with our content in the next few days. The streamer is active on multiple socials, and you see several ways you can leverage that to boost the impact of our partnership. You create a plan and bring in the localization manager to help with translation. You know soon you’ll be able to see people interacting with your content in real time, and it’s thrilling.

By late afternoon, Europe comes online and sends in an urgent request for promotional copy. It’s time to buckle down and hit some last minute EOD deadlines.

You’ve got it under control. You make the most of it. We all win!

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Impeccable writing and editing skills in English, especially for social media ads, posts, and captions.
